The Man Rules

I have a wonderful wife.  She is a beautiful, godly woman that does her best to be her best at all times.  She likes to cook and does it well.  She doesn’t necessarily like to clean but she doesn’t make me do it.  Best of all, she likes to pray and she prays often for me and for many, many others.

Today, I received an email from my wonderful wife.  It is a list of “Man Rules”, written for women by men.  I have seen it before and never really inform her of these “rules” but since she sent it to me I have no choice but remind her.  I am taking it to the printing press, blowing it up, framing it and hanging it on our bedroom wall.

The following are a few of my favorites.  Notice they are all numbered “#1”; clearly they are all of equal importance.

#1 – If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” we will act like nothing’s wrong.  We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

#1 – If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, expect an answer you don’t want to hear.

#1 – You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done, not both.  If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

#1 – Ask for what you want.  Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

This leads to my absolute favorite and most frequently used rule:

#1 – Men are NOT mind readers.

Thanks for this, Honey.
